Get Used to Getting Used
"To use someone is necessary. What's negative is to misuse, overuse or abuse somebody," West said. "If you can't get used, then you're useless."- Kanye West from his book Thank You and You're Welcome

Trap Or Die II Review
This is the second installment of the Trap Or Die mixtape series brought to you by the snowman himself Young Jeezy. I(R.D.) have been a huge fan of Jeezy since forever so this tape really had me excited. Trap Or Die was the mixtape that actually boosted his career and was released some time ago. The first tape was done with DJ Drama, but since the two have recently had public issues with one another the tape was done by Don Cannon, partner and associate of DJ Drama. To me(R.D.) the tape would have been better if Drama would have done it, due to the fact Don Cannon doesn't seem like he knows what he is talking about half of the time during the mixtape. But overall this is a great mixtape and you can download it at Livemixtapes.com From the intro to the end Jeezy fails to disappoint.

Lights Please
This is said to be the song that Jay-Z signed North Carolina native J.Cole off of. This song is as real as it get's, I(R.D.) have dealt with women like this in the past and it really is a sad sight. The beat flows well with the lyrics and he reaches out to young women who use sex as a way to get away from the hurt that they are experiencing . The song also gives young men the opportunity to see that a man can lose himself in female sexual organs. Check it out.

They've got nothin on YOU.
It's been brought to my attention that our blog is "male-oriented" and we need to appeal to our female viewers in some way. So as of lately, it's been a struggle to find a female of my liking that i could possibly pursue something with. After all, the savage lifestyle does get old. And with the frustration this brings, I just wanted to provide some insight on my ideal female qualities. So in no particular order, here it is... What Dizzy looks for in a girl.
1.) Intelligence - There's nothing sexier than a girl that can arouse my intellect, and we connect on several levels. I feel it's important to establish a mental bond initially, and everything else will fall into place. I'm ever so intrigued, when we're able to engage in a conversation about a good book, or a societal issue. Not many see the beauty in that.
2.) Stylish - I'm instantly turned on by a female that takes pride in her outer appearance. If she's a trend setter, and has a glowing aura then more than likely, i'm interested. I dress exceptionally well myself, so it's important for her to compliment that feature.
3.) Sense of humor - Those who know me, know that i love making people laugh. Sharing the same goofy personality makes everything more enjoyable. Plus, having a poor sense of humor is simply boring & is grounds for dull moments. I also feel that laughter is the easiest way to connect.
4.) Originality - When a female possesses originality, and has a nonconformist way of thinking it says alot about her character. It seems that alot of girls are caught up in this recent "Barbie" fad, which i hate. Its not cute, barbies are fake, and it's clear that they have no sense of individualism.
5.) Sports - If she's a fan of UNC, Lakers, or Redskins... #EPICWIN. Nothing is more attractive than a female that knows sports, and doesn't mind watching it with me. She doesn't have to be an avid watcher, but to be somewhat knowledgeable is definitely appealing.
Now this isn't too much to ask.....right?

Air Jordan Retro XI 25th Anniversary VS Air Jordan Retro XI "Columbia"
This is the 25th Anniversary Retro 11 set to drop on May 1st 2010 and I (R.D.) will be passing on these for a number of reasons that I am going to explain. The reason why I decided to blog about this is because many people have been asking am I going to cop these and I always respond no because they don't look like the "Columbia's" and people go what the hell are those? The Columbia's were released back in January 17th 2001. But the reason why I am passing on these are as follows: 1. There is no jumpman sign on this shoe what so ever, I have no clue what jordan brand was thinking.
2. They have a clear bottom instead of the icy blue Columbia bottom like the og's and retro's.
3. They are extremely too plain and will get dirty really quick
4. Last but not least....THEY AIN'T THE COLUMBIA'S!

Food for Thought
Talib Kweli's message in this piece was interesting. I enjoy listening to artists as such because he always keeps the mind going and has a meaningful poetic flow.

GROUPTHINK
Erykah Badu is raising eyebrows with her latest music video "window seat." The video features her getting fully unclothed, wearing nothing but her birthday suit in the streets of Dallas near the locatation JFK was assassinated. We're here with you to share Kelly's World interpretation of the artistic video.
After viewing the video for the first time I was left utterly confounded, and had no clue what her desired message was. So after watching it for the umpteenth time, I began to formulate a few ideas as to where she was going with this. The video is an innovative example of the intersection of art and activism, as well as a visual interpretation of liberation. Badu is a visionary, and i feel like it expressed her thirst for freedom. I also respect the fact that Erykah was undaunted enough to express her feelings through nudity, rather than being limited to the restrictions of cable tv. However, I have yet to find the correlation between the the content of the video, and the lyrics of her song... Enlighten me.
So... that's my outlook on the "window seat" video. I also have a new found appreciation for Badu's music, and everything she stands for; including her opposition to the "Groupthink" mentality. So checkout the video people, and let us know what you think! Feel free to comment & share your interpretation of it. SN: She has an amazinggg ass. -Dizzy
